AB96-ASA1-AA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

AB96-ASA1-AA2,1,2 1. Page 1, line 6: before that line insert:

AB96-ASA1-AA2,1,4 " Section 1b. 15.05 (1) (a) of the statutes is renumbered 15.05 (1) (a) 1. and amended to read:

AB96-ASA1-AA2,1,8 15.05 (1) (a) 1. If a department is under the direction and supervision of a secretary, the secretary shall be nominated by the governor, and with the advice and consent of the senate appointed, to serve at the pleasure of the governor, except as provided in subd. 2."

AB96-ASA1-AA2, s. 1g Section 1g. 15.05 (1) (a) 2. of the statutes is created to read:

AB96-ASA1-AA2,1,12 15.05 (1) (a) 2. The secretary of veterans affairs shall be nominated by the governor, and with the advice and consent of two-thirds of the senate present and voting, shall be appointed to serve at the pleasure of the governor.".

AB96-ASA1-AA2,2,1 2. Page 1, line 6: substitute "Section 1m" for "Section 1".
