AB14-AA2,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB14-AA2,1,2 21. Page 3, line 18: delete "From" and substitute "(a) From".
AB14-AA2,1,6 32. Page 3, line 20: delete lines 20 to 22 and substitute "workforce training
4programs that help meet local needs for supporting sectors of the economy with a
5documented skills gap or a high workforce shortage, which could include
6manufacturing, energy, information technology, skilled trades, and health care.
AB14-AA2,1,107 (b) An organization that is awarded a grant under this subsection may use the
8grant for activities that address the development of individuals prior to entering the
9workforce and for incumbent workforce training, which activities and training could
10include any one or more of the following:
AB14-AA2,1,1111 1. Job training scholarships based on local labor market needs.
AB14-AA2,1,1212 2. Building or infrastructure construction.
AB14-AA2,1,1313 3. Equipment and material purchases.
AB14-AA2,2,1
14. The hiring of trainers.
AB14-AA2,2,32 5. Development in partnership with industry of workforce training curricula,
3based on industry standards, that lead to certificates or degrees.
AB14-AA2,2,44 6. Career support services, including job placement and business recruitment.
AB14-AA2,2,95 (c) In reviewing grant applications under this subsection, the department shall
6consider the speed by which the activities specified in those applications could meet
7training and employment needs and shall give a preference in awarding those grants
8to projects that seek to eliminate waiting lists for courses pertaining to jobs with high
9employment demand. As a condition of receiving a grant under this subsection,".
