ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 258

AB258-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB258-AA1,1,2 1. Page 1, line 6: after "Transportation" insert "and making an appropriation".

AB258-AA1,1,3 2. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:

AB258-AA1,1,4 " Section 1d. 20.395 (3) (jt) of the statutes is created to read:

AB258-AA1,1,7 20.395 (3) (jt) Vegetation maintenance near outdoor advertising signs, state funds. All moneys received under s. 84.305 (5) (f) 1. for replanting vegetation along highway rights-of-way.".

AB258-AA1,1,8 3. Page 2, line 1: delete " Section 1" and substitute "Section 1m".

AB258-AA1,1,9 4. Page 3, line 5: delete that line.

AB258-AA1,1,10 5. Page 3, line 6: delete lines 6 to 13 and substitute:

AB258-AA1,1,12 " Section 3m. 84.305 (1) (i) of the statutes is renumbered 84.305 (1) (i) (intro.) and amended to read:

AB258-AA1,2,4 84.305 (1) (i) (intro.) "Viewing zone" means, with respect to a sign, the area commencing at the point on the main-traveled way of the highway nearest the sign for the direction of travel for which the sign face is oriented and extending, in a direction opposite of the direction of travel in, as follows:

AB258-AA1,2,6 1. In the nearest through traffic lanes, in a line along the highway parallel to the highway pavement edge for a distance of 1,000 feet.".

AB258-AA1,2,8 " Section 3p. 84.305 (1) (i) 2. of the statutes is created to read:

AB258-AA1,2,13 84.305 (1) (i) 2. If the sign face is visible and intended to be viewed from the traffic lanes for the direction of travel opposite to that of the lanes under subd. 1. and there is no median containing vegetation between the traffic lanes under this subdivision and those under subd. 1., then, in the lanes under this subdivision, in a line along the highway pavement edge for a distance of 1,000 feet.".

AB258-AA1,2,15 7. Page 4, line 13: delete " Subject to par. (ar), each Each" and substitute "Subject to par. (ar), each".

AB258-AA1,2,16 8. Page 4, line 19: delete that line.

AB258-AA1,2,19 9. Page 5, line 17: after "(d)." insert "All moneys received by the department under this subdivision shall be deposited into the transportation fund and credited to the appropriation under s. 20.395 (3) (jt).".
