AB71-AA1,2,2 (1) Audit of counties and agencies affected by changes to penalties for driving a vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. The legislative audit bureau shall perform a financial audit of counties, offices of district attorneys and public defenders, and circuit courts to determine the fiscal and administrative costs to the counties, offices, and courts to prosecute actions that are punishable under section 346.65 (2) (am) 3. to 7. of the statutes, as affected by this act. The legislative audit bureau shall prepare a report of its findings and recommendations for addressing any negative consequences of the changes to sentencing under the affected statutes. No later than 18 months after the effective date of this subsection, the legislative audit bureau shall submit copies of the audit report and its recommendations to the chief clerk of each house of the legislature for distribution to the appropriate standing committees under section 13.172 (3) of the statutes.".
