(1) (jd) In addition to any other fee under this subsection, for
8reinstatement of an operating privilege previously suspended under s. 345.47 (1) (b)
9or 800.095 (1) (a) for failure to pay a judgment or installment payment on a judgment,
10$40. The department shall forward this fee to the clerk of the court, or to the judge
11responsible for the court's administrative matters if the court has no clerk, in which
12the suspension was ordered.

(2) Reinstatement of nonresident's operating privilege. A
2nonresident's operating privilege revoked or suspended under the laws of this state
3is reinstated as a matter of law when the period of revocation or suspension has
4expired and the nonresident pays the fees specified in s. 343.21 (1) (j)

5applicable, and (n)
and, if applicable, s. 343.21 (1) (jd) or (jr).

(3) Reinstatement after suspension. Except as provided in sub. (2) and
8s. 343.10, the department shall not reinstate the operating privilege of a person
9whose operating privilege has been duly suspended while the suspension remains in
10effect. Subject to s. 343.31 (2t) (b), upon the expiration of the period of suspension,
11the person's operating privilege is reinstated upon receipt by the department of the
12fees specified in s. 343.21 (1) (j) and (n)
and, if applicable, s. 343.21 (1) (jd) and, for
13reinstatement of an operating privilege suspended under ch. 344, the filing with the
14department of proof of financial responsibility, if required, in the amount, form, and
15manner specified under ch. 344.".
