ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 17

AB17-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB17-AA1,1,3 1. Page 2, line 13: delete the material beginning with "a recertification" and ending with "examination." on line 14 and substitute "one of the following:".

AB17-AA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 14: after that line insert:

AB17-AA1,1,5 "1. A recertification training course approved by the department.

AB17-AA1,1,6 2. An approved examination.

AB17-AA1,3k Section 3k. 254.71 (3g) of the statutes is created to read:

AB17-AA1,1,9 254.71 (3g) (a) For a certificate issued under sub. (3) (b) 1., all of the following apply:

AB17-AA1,1,11 1. The certificate is called a "licensure of food safety training for small operators."

AB17-AA1,2,3 2. The certificate applies only in a restaurant the certificate holder is operating or managing at the time of the renewal or in other restaurants employing 5 or fewer food handlers.

AB17-AA1,2,5 3. A licensure of food safety training for small operators may be renewed under sub. (3) (b) 1. every 5 years.

AB17-AA1,2,8 (b) The department shall approve recertification training courses that were approved by the department as of December 31, 2014, and substantially similar courses.

AB17-AA1,2,10 (c) The department may not adopt different regulatory and inspection standards based on the type of certificate issued under this section.".
