AB489-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB489-AA1,1,3 21. Page 11, line 3: delete "employee, contractor, or volunteer," and substitute
3"employee or contractor,".
AB489-AA1,1,4 42. Page 11, line 10: delete lines 10 to 16 and substitute:
AB489-AA1,1,8 5"48.981 (2) (ag) Definition. In this subsection, "neglect" means failure, refusal,
6or inability on the part of a caregiver to provide necessary care, food, clothing,
7medical or dental care, or shelter so as to seriously endanger the physical health of
8the child.".

AB489-AA1,2,134 118.07 (5) Each school board shall require every employee of the school district
5governed by the school board
, contractor, or volunteer who is affiliated with the
6school district governed by the school board and who works directly with children at
7least 40 hours in a school year, other than a child or student who has not yet
8graduated from high school,
to receive training provided by the department in
9identifying children who have been abused or neglected or who are victims of human
10trafficking
and in the laws and procedures under s. 48.981 governing the reporting
11of suspected or threatened child abuse and neglect. A school district employee shall
12receive that training within the first 6 months after commencing employment with
13the school district and at least once every 5 years after that initial training.".
