ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 2, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 533

AB533-AA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB533-AA2,1,2 1. Page 1, line 2: delete "for fraud in obtaining" and substitute "under the".

AB533-AA2,1,3 2. Page 1, line 3: delete "benefits" and substitute "law".

AB533-AA2,1,4 3. Page 3, line 4: after that line insert:

AB533-AA2,1,6 " Section 2g. 108.24 (2) of the statutes is renumbered 108.24 (2) (a) and amended to read:

AB533-AA2,2,2 108.24 (2) (a) Except as provided in sub. (2m) and s. 108.16 (8) (m), any person who knowingly makes a false statement or representation in connection with any report or as to any information duly required by the department under this chapter, or who knowingly refuses or fails to keep any records or to furnish any reports or information duly required by the department under this chapter, shall be fined not less than $100 nor more than $500, or imprisoned not more than 90 days or both; and each may be penalized as provided in par. (b). Each such false statement or representation and every day of such refusal or failure constitutes a separate offense.

AB533-AA2,2r Section 2r. 108.24 (2) (b) of the statutes is created to read:

AB533-AA2,2,4 108.24 (2) (b) Whoever violates par. (a):

AB533-AA2,2,5 1. For a first conviction, is guilty of a Class I felony.

AB533-AA2,2,6 2. For a 2nd conviction, is guilty of a Class H felony.

AB533-AA2,2,7 3. For a 3rd or subsequent conviction, is guilty of a Class G felony.".

AB533-AA2,2,8 4. Page 3, line 6: on lines 6 and 10, delete "for benefit fraud".

AB533-AA2,2,9 5. Page 3, line 7: after "(1) (a)" insert "or (2) (a)".
