AB657-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB657-AA1,1,2 21. Page 1, line 3: before that line insert:
AB657-AA1,1,3 3" Section 1g. 165.95 (3) (cd) of the statutes is created to read:
AB657-AA1,1,74 165.95 (3) (cd) Subject to par. (cg), the program does not prohibit a person from
5beginning or continuing participation in the program because he or she uses a
6medication that is approved by the federal food and drug administration for the
7treatment of his or her substance use disorder.
AB657-AA1,1m 8Section 1m. 165.95 (3) (cg) of the statutes is created to read:
AB657-AA1,1,109 165.95 (3) (cg) The program allows a participant to use a medication that is
10approved by the federal food and drug administration if all of the following are true:
AB657-AA1,1,1311 1. A licensed health care provider, acting in the scope of his or her practice, has
12examined the person and determined that the person's use of the medication is an
13appropriate treatment for the person's substance use disorder.
AB657-AA1,2,2
12. The medication was appropriately prescribed by a person authorized to
2prescribe medication in the state.
AB657-AA1,2,43 3. The person is using the medication as prescribed as part of treatment for a
4diagnosed substance use disorder.".
