SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO SENATE BILL 180

SB180-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB180-SA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 3: after "skis" insert "and requiring the use of personal flotation devices while engaging in certain water activities".

SB180-SA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 23: after that line insert:

SB180-SA1,1,5 " Section 5. 167.34 of the statutes is created to read:

SB180-SA1,1,9 167.34 Recreational water activities; use of personal flotation devices. (1) Except as provided in sub. (2), no person may engage in water skiing, aquaplaning, or a similar activity unless the person is wearing a personal flotation device.

SB180-SA1,2,2 (2) Subsection (1) does not apply to a person participating in a duly authorized water ski tournament, competition, exhibition, or a trial for a water ski tournament, competition, or exhibition if adequate lighting is provided at the tournament, competition, exhibition, or trial.".
