SB295-SSA1-SA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:
SB295-SSA1-SA1,1,2 21. Page 6, line 6: delete "A" and substitute "An unexpired".
SB295-SSA1-SA1,1,3 32. Page 17, line 11: delete "(1) and (2)".
SB295-SSA1-SA1,1,4 43. Page 17, line 11: delete "are" and substitute "is".
SB295-SSA1-SA1,1,6 54. Page 17, line 14: delete "the municipal" and substitute "the board or
6municipal".
SB295-SSA1-SA1,1,7 75. Page 17, line 16: delete "the clerk" and substitute "the board or clerk".
SB295-SSA1-SA1,1,8 86. Page 17, line 17: delete "the clerk" and substitute "the board or clerk".

11clerk shall make a good faith effort to notify the elector that he or she may register

1at the clerk's office under s. 6.29 or at the proper polling place or other location
2designated under s. 6.55 (2).
SB295-SSA1-SA1,2,13 3(4) If the form is sufficient to accomplish registration and the board or clerk has
4no reliable information to indicate that the proposed elector is not qualified, the
5board or clerk shall enter the elector's name on the registration list and transmit a
61st class letter or postcard to the registrant, specifying the elector's ward or
7aldermanic district, or both, if any, and polling place. The letter or postcard shall be
8sent within 10 days of receipt of the form. If the letter or postcard is returned, or if
9the board or clerk is informed of a different address than the one specified by the
10elector, the board or clerk shall change the status of the elector on the list from
11eligible to ineligible. The letter or postcard shall be marked in accordance with postal
12regulations to ensure that it will be returned to the board or clerk if the elector does
13not reside at the address given on the letter or postcard.
SB295-SSA1-SA1,31d 14Section 31d. 6.32 of the statutes, as affected by 2015 Wisconsin Act .... (this
15act), is repealed and recreated to read:
SB295-SSA1-SA1,2,1816 6.32 (1) Upon receipt of a registration form that is submitted by mail under s.
176.30 (4) or by electronic application under s. 6.30 (5), the commission or municipal
18clerk shall examine the form for sufficiency.
SB295-SSA1-SA1,2,23 19(2) If the form is insufficient to accomplish registration or the commission or
20clerk knows or has reliable information that the proposed elector is not qualified, the
21commission or clerk shall notify the proposed elector within 5 days, if possible, and
22request that the elector appear at the clerk's office or another registration location
23to complete a proper registration or substantiate the information presented.
SB295-SSA1-SA1,3,2 24(3) If the form is submitted later than the close of registration, the commission
