SENATE AMENDMENT 5, TO SENATE BILL 44

SB44-SA5,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB44-SA5,1,2 1. Page 1, line 5: delete "and" and substitute ", making an appropriation, and".

SB44-SA5,1,3 2. Page 5, line 8: after that line insert:

SB44-SA5,1,4 " Section 12m. Fiscal changes.

SB44-SA5,2,2 (1) Aid for high poverty school districts. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of public instruction under section 20.255 (2) (bb) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2015, the dollar amount is increased by $16,800,000 for the first fiscal year of the fiscal biennium in which this subsection takes effect for the purposes for which the appropriation is made. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of public instruction under section 20.255 (2) (bb) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2015, the dollar amount is increased by $16,800,000 for the second fiscal year of the fiscal biennium in which this subsection takes effect for the purposes for which the appropriation is made.".

SB44-SA5,2,3 3. Page 5, line 12: after that line insert:

SB44-SA5,2,4 " Section 13m. Effective date.

SB44-SA5,2,7 (1) Aid for high poverty school districts. Section 12m (1) of this act takes effect on the day after publication, or on the 2nd day after publication of the 2015-17 biennial budget act, whichever is later.".
