SENATE AMENDMENT 2, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 8

AB8-SA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB8-SA2,1,3 1. Page 1, line 2: after “programs" insert “, certified substance abuse counselor reimbursement under the Medical Assistance program,".

AB8-SA2,1,5 2. Page 2, line 5: after that line, after the material inserted by assembly amendment 4, insert:

AB8-SA2,1,6 “ Section 1w. Nonstatutory provisions.

AB8-SA2,2,2 (1c) Certified substance abuse counselors. To the extent allowed by the federal department of health and human services, the department of health services shall increase the reimbursement rate for certified substance abuse counselors under the Medical Assistance program under subchapter IV of chapter 49 of the statutes. The department of health services shall seek any approval necessary from the federal department of health and human services to implement the reimbursement rate increase under this subsection.”.
