ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 2, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 235

AB235-AA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB235-AA2,1,3 1. Page 1, line 5: delete “grants" and substitute “grants, eviction prevention grants, and making an appropriation".

AB235-AA2,1,5 2. Page 2, line 12: delete “appropriation under s. 20.505 (7) (fm)" and substitute “appropriation appropriations under s. 20.505 (7) (fk) and (fm)".

AB235-AA2,1,6 3. Page 2, line 18: after that line insert:

AB235-AA2,1,7 “ Section 6m. 16.306 (2) (am) of the statutes is created to read:

AB235-AA2,1,10 16.306 (2) (am) In awarding grants under par. (a), the department shall give priority to eligible applicants using rapid-rehousing and housing first program models, as determined by the department.”.

AB235-AA2,1,11 4. Page 3, line 10: after that line insert:

AB235-AA2,1,13 “ Section 11g. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert the following amounts for the purposes indicated: - See PDF for table

AB235-AA2,2,5 “ Section 12m. 234.38 of the statutes is created to read:

AB235-AA2,2,11 234.38 Eviction prevention grants. The authority shall issue its negotiable bonds in such principal amount and length of maturity as to provide sufficient funds, not to exceed $1,000,000, to make grants directly to individuals and families or to one or more housing authorities under s. 59.53 (22), 61.73, 66.1201, or 66.1213 for the purpose of providing rent assistance to individuals and families who are in danger of being evicted from their residences.

AB235-AA2,13m Section 13m. Effective date.

AB235-AA2,2,14 (1) This act takes effect on the day after publication, or on the 2nd day after publication of the 2017 biennial budget act, whichever is later.”.
