AB710-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB710-AA1,1,2 21. Page 1, line 2: delete “for fraud in obtaining" and substitute “under the".
AB710-AA1,1,3 32. Page 1, line 3: delete “benefits" and substitute “law".
AB710-AA1,1,4 43. Page 2, line 21: after that line insert:
AB710-AA1,1,5 5 Section 2g. 108.24 (2) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB710-AA1,1,136 108.24 (2) Except as provided in sub. subs. (2c) and (2m) and s. 108.16 (8) (m),
7any person who knowingly makes a false statement or representation in connection
8with any report or as to any information duly required by the department under this
9chapter, or who knowingly refuses or fails to keep any records or to furnish any
10reports or information duly required by the department under this chapter, shall be
11fined not less than $100 nor more than $500, or imprisoned not more than 90 days
12or both; and each. Each such false statement or representation and every day of such
13refusal or failure constitutes a separate offense.

1Section 2r. 108.24 (2c) of the statutes is created to read:
AB710-AA1,2,92 108.24 (2c) (a) Any person who knowingly makes a false statement or
3representation in connection with any report or as to any information duly required
4by the department under this chapter, or who knowingly refuses or fails to keep any
5records or to furnish any reports or information duly required by the department
6under this chapter and who, as a result of that false statement or representation or
7knowing refusal or failure, avoids liability to the department for contributions,
8reimbursements, assessments, or other amounts under this chapter, may be
9penalized as provided in par. (b).
AB710-AA1,2,1010 (b) Whoever violates par. (a):
AB710-AA1,2,1311 1. If the amount for which the person avoided liability to the department does
12not exceed $2,500, is subject to a fine not to exceed $10,000 or imprisonment not to
13exceed 9 months, or both.
AB710-AA1,2,1514 2. If the amount for which the person avoided liability to the department
15exceeds $2,500 but does not exceed $5,000, is guilty of a Class I felony.
AB710-AA1,2,1716 3. If the amount for which the person avoided liability to the department
17exceeds $5,000 but does not exceed $10,000, is guilty of a Class H felony.
AB710-AA1,2,1918 4. If the amount for which the person avoided liability to the department
19exceeds $10,000, is guilty of a Class G felony.
AB710-AA1,2,2120 (c) In any case involving more than one violation of par. (a), all such violations
21may be prosecuted as a single crime.”.
AB710-AA1,2,22 224. Page 3, line 2: on lines 2 and 6, delete “for benefit fraud".
