759.19 Administrative coordinator. (intro.) In any county which has not
8created the office of county executive or county administrator, the board shall
9designate, no later than January 1, 1987, an elected or appointed official to serve as
10administrative coordinator of the county
or, in the alternative, may designate as
11administrative coordinator any other individual who, based on the individual's
12training, experience, administrative ability, and general qualifications and fitness,
1is qualified to hold the position. The administrative coordinator shall be responsible
2for coordinating
and directing all administrative and management functions of the
3county government not otherwise vested by law in boards or commissions, or in other
4elected officers.
The powers and duties of the administrative coordinator may
5include all of the following:

(1) Communication of policies, directives, and initiatives of the board to
8county departments.

(2) Preparation or assistance in the development of the county's budget.

(3) Preparation or assistance in the development of an annual report to
13the board, if the board requires the preparation of such a report.

(4) Performance of special projects and assignments, as directed by the

(5) Supervision of the heads of departments, if the board directs the
19administrator to conduct such supervision and if such supervision is not otherwise
20vested by law in boards or commissions, or in other elected officers.”.
