SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO SENATE BILL 109

SB109-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB109-SA1,1,2 1. Page 2, line 2: substitute “establishments and" for “establishments,".

SB109-SA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 3: delete the material beginning with “managers," and ending with “professions" on line 4 and substitute “managers”.

SB109-SA1,1,5 3. Page 3, line 1: delete lines 1 and 2.

SB109-SA1,1,6 4. Page 3, line 4: delete that line.

SB109-SA1,1,7 5. Page 3, line 6: delete lines 6 to 9.

SB109-SA1,1,8 6. Page 3, line 11: delete that line.

SB109-SA1,1,9 7. Page 3, line 13: delete lines 13 and 14.

SB109-SA1,1,11 8. Page 3, line 22: delete the material beginning with that line and ending with page 5, line 4.

SB109-SA1,2,3 “ Section 28m. 440.635 of the statutes is amended to read:

SB109-SA1,2,8 440.635 Persons providing practical instruction in specialty schools. (1) No person may provide practical instruction in a specialty school of aesthetics unless the person holds a current cosmetology manager license issued by the cosmetology examining board or a current cosmetology instructor or aesthetics instructor certificate issued by the department.

SB109-SA1,2,12 (2) No person may provide practical instruction in a specialty school of electrology unless the person holds a current electrologist license and a current cosmetology manager license issued by the cosmetology examining board or an electrology instructor certificate issued by the department.

SB109-SA1,2,16 (3) No person may provide practical instruction in a specialty school of manicuring unless the person holds a current cosmetology manager license issued by the cosmetology examining board or a current cosmetology instructor or manicuring instructor certificate issued by the department.”.

SB109-SA1,2,20 11. Page 7, line 18: delete the material beginning with that line and ending with page 8, line 12, and substitute:

SB109-SA1,2,21 “ Section 39m. 454.06 (4) (b) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:

SB109-SA1,3,2 454.06 (4) (b) 2. At least 450 training hours in not less than 11 weeks and not more than 30 weeks under the supervision of a cosmetology instructor or aesthetics instructor certified under s. 440.63 (3) (am) or (b) or a licensed cosmetology manager, in a licensed establishment that is also licensed as a specialty school of aesthetics under s. 440.62 (4) (a).

SB109-SA1,40m Section 40m. 454.06 (5) (b) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:

SB109-SA1,3,8 454.06 (5) (b) 2. At least 450 training hours in not less than 11 weeks and not more than 30 weeks under the supervision of an electrology instructor certified under s. 440.63 (3) (c), or a licensed electrologist who is also a licensed cosmetology manager, in a licensed establishment that is also licensed as a specialty school of electrology under s. 440.62 (4) (b).

SB109-SA1,41m Section 41m. 454.06 (6) (b) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:

SB109-SA1,3,14 454.06 (6) (b) 2. At least 300 training hours of training in not less than 7 weeks and not more than 20 weeks under the supervision of a cosmetology instructor or manicuring instructor certified under s. 440.63 (3) (am) or (d) or a licensed cosmetology manager, in a licensed establishment that is also licensed as a specialty school of manicuring under s. 440.62 (4) (c).”.
