AB788-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB788-AA1,1,2 21. Page 1, line 5: after “practice law," insert “the practice of pharmacy,".
AB788-AA1,1,3 32. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:
AB788-AA1,1,4 4 Section 1g. 450.01 (11o) of the statutes is created to read:
AB788-AA1,1,85 450.01 (11o) “Free and charitable clinics” means health care organizations
6that use a volunteer and staff model to provide health services to uninsured,
7underinsured, underserved, economically and socially disadvantaged, and
8vulnerable populations and that meet all of the following criteria:
AB788-AA1,1,109 (a) The organizations are nonprofit and tax exempt or are a part of a larger
10nonprofit, tax-exempt organization.
AB788-AA1,1,1111 (b) The organizations are located in this state or serve residents in this state.
AB788-AA1,2,3
1(c) The organizations restrict eligibility to receive services to individuals who
2are uninsured, underinsured, or have limited or no access to primary, specialty, or
3prescription care.
AB788-AA1,2,44 (d) The organizations provide one or more of the following services:
AB788-AA1,2,55 1. Medical care.
AB788-AA1,2,66 2. Mental health care.
AB788-AA1,2,77 3. Dental care.
AB788-AA1,2,88 4. Prescription medications.
AB788-AA1,2,119 (e) The organizations use volunteer health care professionals, nonclinical
10volunteers, and partnerships with other health care providers to provide the services
11under par. (d)
AB788-AA1,2,1512(f) The organizations are not federally qualified health centers as defined in 42
13USC 1396d
(l) (2) and do not receive reimbursement from the federal centers for
14medicare and medicaid services under a federally qualified health center payment
15methodology.”.
