AB329-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB329-AA1,1,3 21. Page 2, line 3: after “report to the" insert “appropriate standing committees
3of the".
AB329-AA1,1,4 42. Page 2, line 4: delete “(2)" and substitute “(3)".
AB329-AA1,1,8 53. Page 2, line 5: after “calendar year." insert “The standing committees shall
6review the report submitted under this subsection to determine whether the
7requirements for executing a search warrant under s. 968.14 are necessary and
8appropriate and shall report their findings to the legislature.".
AB329-AA1,1,9 94. Page 4, line 2: after that line insert:

AB329-AA1,3m 12Section 3m. 968.14 of the statutes is renumbered 968.14 (3).
AB329-AA1,4m 13Section 4m. 968.14 (1) and (2) of the statutes are created to read:

1968.14 (1) When executing a search warrant, a law enforcement officer shall
2wear his or her uniform and, except as provided under sub. (2), may not enter the
3premises subject to the warrant without first identifying that he or she is a law
4enforcement officer and announcing the authority and purpose of the entry.
AB329-AA1,2,8 5(2) No judge may issue a search warrant that authorizes an exception to the
6announcement required under sub. (1), unless the judge finds, by a preponderance
7of the evidence, that an exception is necessary in order to protect the safety of a law
8enforcement officer or a member of the public.”.
