SB453-SSA1,1,2 1An Act relating to: modifying an administrative rule to eliminate prior
2authorization for enteral products administered through a tube.

This bill removes the requirement under the administrative code that a
provider receive prior authorization from the Department of Health Services to
provide and receive reimbursement for enteral nutrition products administered
through a tube under the Medical Assistance program. The Medical Assistance
program is a joint federal and state program that provides health services to
individuals with limited financial resources.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB453-SSA1,1 3Section 1 . DHS 107.10 (2) (c) of the administrative code is amended to read:
SB453-SSA1,2,34 DHS 107.10 (2) (c) Medically necessary, specially formulated nutritional
5supplements and replacement products, including enteral and parenteral products
6used for the treatment of severe health conditions such as pathologies of the

1gastrointestinal tract or metabolic disorders, as described in the MA provider
2handbooks and bulletins, but not including enteral nutrition products administered
3through a tube

SB453-SSA1,2,65 (1) Notwithstanding s. 227.265, this act takes effect on the day after
6publication.
