ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 86

AB86-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB86-AA1,1,2 1. Page 2, line 4: delete that line and substitute:

AB86-AA1,1,4 “(am) “Direct costs” means costs that an institution bills directly to a student, including tuition, fees, and if applicable room and board.”.

AB86-AA1,1,10 2. Page 2, line 6: delete “1087nn." and substitute “1087nn, except that, upon implementation of section 702 of the FAFSA Simplification Act, Title VII of Division FF of P.L. 116-260, as affected by section 102 of the FAFSA Simplification Act Technical Corrections Act, Division R of P.L. 117-103, “expected family contribution” shall be determined consistently with requirements for determining the student aid index under 20 USC ch. 28.".

AB86-AA1,2,3 4. Page 2, line 13: delete the material beginning with “to meet" and ending with “gift aid." on line 15 and substitute “that the entity awarding the gift aid has designated as a last-dollar scholarship.”.

AB86-AA1,2,4 5. Page 3, line 18: delete that line and substitute:

AB86-AA1,2,6 “(am) “Direct costs” means costs that a technical college bills directly to a student, including fees, and if applicable room and board.”.

AB86-AA1,2,12 6.
