SB829-SA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
SB829-SA1,1,2 21. Page 2, line 11: delete lines 11 to 14 and substitute:
SB829-SA1,1,9 3“165.85 (2) (fh) “Tactical emergency medical services professional” means a
4licensed emergency medical services professional who has been endorsed by the
5department of health services as a person who provides medical services when
6operating as part of a law enforcement tactical team and operating with the prior
7written approval of the sheriff or chief of police for the jurisdiction in which the
8licensed emergency medical services professional is authorized to carry out his or her
9duties.”.
SB829-SA1,2,3 102. Page 4, line 17: after “professional." insert “No person may be certified as
11a tactical emergency medical services professional without the prior written
12approval of the sheriff or chief of police for the jurisdiction in which the tactical
13emergency medical services professional is authorized to carry out his or her duties.

1The sheriff or chief of police must have authority and responsibility over the team
2on which he or she is approving the tactical emergency medical services professional
3to go armed with a firearm.".
SB829-SA1,2,4 43. Page 5, line 9: delete lines 9 to 15 and substitute:
SB829-SA1,2,10 5“5. a. No person may continue to be certified as a tactical emergency medical
6services professional unless that person maintains employment as a tactical
7emergency medical services professional, maintains the approval of the sheriff or
8chief of police for the jurisdiction in which the tactical emergency medical services
9professional is authorized to carry out his or her duties, and meets annual
10recertification training standards.”.
