American Indian tourism marketing
This bill requires DOA to award an annual grant to the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council to provide funding for a program to promote tourism featuring American Indian heritage and culture. The bill also transfers from the Department of Tourism to DOA a contract between the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council and the Department of Tourism that relates to the promotion of tourism featuring American Indian heritage and culture.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
Section
1. 16.29 (title) of the statutes is amended to read:
16.29 (title) Technical assistance
; tourism marketing.
Section
2. 16.29 (4) of the statutes is created to read:
16.29 (4) Annually, the department shall grant to the Great Lakes inter-tribal council the amount appropriated under s. 20.505 (1) (kv) to fund a program to promote tourism featuring American Indian heritage and culture.
Section
3. 20.505 (1) (kv) of the statutes is created to read:
20.505 (1) (kv) American Indian tourism marketing. The amounts in the schedule for grants under s. 16.29 (4). All moneys transferred from the appropriation account under sub. (8) (hm) 19n. shall be credited to this appropriation account. Notwithstanding s. 20.001 (3) (a), the unencumbered balance on June 30 of each year shall revert to the appropriation account under sub. (8) (hm).

Section
4. 20.505 (8) (hm) 19n. of the statutes is created to read:
20.505 (8) (hm) 19n. The amount transferred to sub. (1) (kv) shall be the amount in the schedule under sub. (1) (kv).

Section 9143.
Nonstatutory provisions; Tourism.
(1) Transfer of American Indian tourism marketing contract. The contract between the department of tourism and the Great Lakes inter-tribal council in effect on the effective date of this subsection that is primarily related to the promotion of tourism featuring American Indian heritage and culture, as determined by the secretary of administration, is transferred to the department of administration. The department of administration shall carry out any obligations under such a contract until the contract is modified or rescinded by the department of administration to the extent allowed under the contract.
