Funding for broadband expansion grant program
This bill appropriates general purpose revenue for the broadband expansion grant program administered by the PSC.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
Section
1. 20.155 (3) (a) of the statutes is created to read:
20.155 (3) (a) Broadband expansion grants; general purpose revenue. The amounts in the schedule for broadband expansion grants under s. 196.504 (2).
****Note: This Section involves a change in an appropriation that must be reflected in the revised schedule in s. 20.005, stats.
Section
2. 196.504 (2) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
196.504 (2) (a) To make broadband expansion grants to eligible applicants for the purpose of constructing broadband infrastructure in underserved areas designated under par. (d). Grants awarded under this section subsection shall be paid from the appropriations under s. 20.155 (3) (a), (r), and (rm).
****Note: This is reconciled s. 196.504 (2) (a). This Section has been affected by drafts with the following LRB numbers: -1874/P1 and -1894/P2. This section is retained here but deleted from -1894.
