ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: recognition of the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club.
Whereas, the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club is a nonprofit organization established in 1965 to gather and maintain records of trophy deer and bear taken in this state; and
Whereas, the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club has approximately 245 members in its 4 chapters and is one of the most active game measuring organizations in the nation; and
Whereas, the list produced by the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club of trophy deer and bear is computerized, up-to-date and available to anyone on request; and
Whereas, the information gathered by the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club can assist hunters throughout the state in determining which areas to hunt trophy deer and bear; and
Whereas, the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club currently sponsors 2 scholarships in the natural resources field at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and has made donations to various wildlife and hunting associations; and
Whereas, the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club is dedicated to having a record system in the state so that the state has the documentation to continue to be recognized as one of the best states for the hunting of trophy deer and bear; and
Whereas, the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club promotes fair, safe and ethical hunting; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the legislature of the state of Wisconsin recognize the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club as the principal record keeper of the taking of trophy deer and bear in this state; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to the leaders of the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club, to the secretary of natural resources and to each member of the Natural Resources Board.
