ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: congratulating the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for its excellent undergraduate and graduate programs.
Whereas, last month, the U.S. News and World Report ranked the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (UW-Eau Claire) the 2nd most efficient regional university in the Midwest based on academic quality in relation to spending; and
Whereas, the same magazine rated UW-Eau Claire the 4th "best buy" among Midwestern regional universities; and
Whereas, this magazine rated UW-Eau Claire first in academic quality among University of Wisconsin System comprehensive universities; and
Whereas, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching selected UW-Eau Claire faculty member William Frankenberger as the 1995-96 Wisconsin Professor of the Year; and
Whereas, UW-Eau Claire is the only Wisconsin campus to have had more than one faculty member selected as Wisconsin Professor of the Year since the awards program began in 1989; and
Whereas, UW-Eau Claire administrators have acquired and developed technology to improve students' educational opportunities, including one computer for every 11 students, a ratio that surpasses most national benchmarks; and
Whereas, UW-Eau Claire has provided a high-quality education for students since 1916 and continues to be a national leader in undergraduate education; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin legislature congratulates UW-Eau Claire and its distinguished faculty and staff for the national recognition that it has received and encourages UW-Eau Claire to continue to provide a high-quality education for students.
