1995 Assembly Joint Resolution 70
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: commending Major General Jerald Slack upon his retirement.
Whereas, Major General Jerald Slack, the Adjutant General of Wisconsin, will retire during January 1996; and
Whereas, he was born on February 14, 1936, and earned a degree in civil engineering from Bradley University; and
Whereas, he began his military career by enlisting in the Illinois Air National Guard in 1959, and he transferred to the Wisconsin Air National Guard in 1961; and
Whereas, due to his administrative ability and his acquisition of skills by means of training, he rose rapidly through the ranks; and
Whereas, he was appointed adjutant general on December 21, 1989; and
Whereas, before his appointment as adjutant general, he was the administrator of the division of facilities management in the Department of Administration; and
Whereas, he is a member of the Legion of Merit and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award and numerous other medals; and
Whereas, he was promoted to major general on August 3, 1990; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the legislature of the state of Wisconsin commend Major General Jerald Slack for his decades of meritorious service to this state as the epitome of a citizen-soldier and wish him a long, healthy and happy retirement; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Major General Jerald Slack.
