ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: designating the first Sunday after the first Saturday in October of each year as Wisconsin's "Ethnic Trail Day".
Whereas, more ethnic groups settled in the state of Wisconsin in the nineteenth century than in any other state; and
Whereas, many ethnic celebrations are held annually in this state; and
Whereas, tourism is a major industry in this state; and
Whereas, the state of Wisconsin encourages interest in and knowledge of the historic, cultural and ethnic heritage of this state through a program of historic sites, historical markers and plaques, and designated highway routes, including the Green Bay Ethnic Trail along the shore of Lake Michigan; and
Whereas, Wisconsin's Ethnic Settlement Trail, Inc., a state of Wisconsin heritage tourism project, encourages and promotes the membership and participation in its organization of all ethnic settlements in this state; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of the state of Wisconsin recognizes the historical achievements and contributions of all ethnic settlements in this state by designating the first Sunday after the first Saturday in October of each year as Wisconsin's "Ethnic Trail Day".
