1995 Senate Joint Resolution 33
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the service of Jack Reihl to working men and women.
Whereas, The Honorable Jack Reihl has been a dedicated labor leader for many years; and
Whereas, Jack was first a member of Local 14 of the United Rubber Workers and has served as president of the Carpenters Local 1143; and
Whereas, Jack joined the staff of the Wisconsin AFL-CIO in 1969 after working for the U.S. Department of Commerce as a project manager, and Jack organized and served as president of Local 2753 of the American Federation of Government Employees, a professional and clerical local in the U.S. Department of Commerce; and
Whereas, Jack Reihl was elected secretary-treasurer of the State AFL-CIO in 1970 and also served as that organization's legislative director; and
Whereas, Jack Reihl was appointed by President Carter to represent labor on the National Advisory Council for Vocational Education from 1979 to 1982; and
Whereas, Jack Reihl was overwhelmingly elected president of the Wisconsin State AFL-CIO in 1986 and worked tirelessly on behalf of working men and women until his retirement in 1994; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the legislature of the state of Wisconsin congratulate Jack Reihl on his years of service, commend him on his distinguished career and wish him the best of everything upon his retirement; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Jack Reihl.
