1997 Assembly Joint Resolution 62
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: declaring October 21, 1997, Benefit Specialists Day.
Whereas, benefit specialists assist elderly persons in securing the public benefits that they are entitled to; and
Whereas, to that end benefit specialists provide information, assistance and representation; and
Whereas, these services are provided through county and tribal aging units supported by legal back-up provided through area agencies on aging, and all of these services are coordinated by the Bureau on Aging within the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family services; and
Whereas, these invaluable services are provided without charge; and
Whereas, benefit specialists deserve recognition for the advocacy that they provide for the elderly persons of this state; and
Whereas, the benefit specialists will be assembling for the Aging Network Training in October of this year; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the legislature of the state of Wisconsin proclaims October 21, 1997, "Wisconsin Benefit Specialists Day".
