1997 Senate Joint Resolution 29
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Arthur Lenroot.
Whereas, Arthur Lenroot was born on February 18, 1912, in Superior, and died on July 8, 1997, in Santa Rosa, California; and
Whereas, he was educated in the Superior public schools, at Superior State College and the College of St. Thomas; and
Whereas, he worked for a railroad and an oil company and was a traveling salesman and a title abstractor; and
Whereas, Mr. Lenroot was elected to the assembly in 1942 and 1944 and to the senate in 1946, 1948, 1950 and 1952; and
Whereas, he served as a chairperson of the Joint Committee on Finance; and
Whereas, he was active in conservation and in tourism promotion, serving as president of the Douglas County Fish and Game League, as chairperson of the Douglas County Conservation Congress and as director of the Douglas County division of the Indianhead Association; and
Whereas, he was also Douglas County abstractor and a member of the national guard; and
Whereas, after leaving the legislature, Mr. Lenroot was the state director of the Mortgage Guarantee Insurance Corporation; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend Arthur Lenroot's many years of public service, express their sorrow at his death and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Mr. Lenroot's wife, Ellie, and to his 3 children.
