1999 Assembly Joint Resolution 75
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Merrill E. Stalbaum.
Whereas, Merrill E. Stalbaum was born in the town of Norway on April 24, 1911, and died in Burlington on August 30, 1999; and
Whereas, he graduated from Waterford High School; and
Whereas, he was a farmer, land surveyor and public servant; and
Whereas, Merrill Stalbaum served 30 years as clerk of the town of Norway and also served as a member of the Racine County School Committee; and
Whereas, his election to the Wisconsin assembly in 1960 enabled him to join his brother, Senator Lynn Stalbaum, as a member of the Wisconsin legislature; and
Whereas, Merrill Stalbaum served on the Joint Committee on Finance, the Joint Committee for the Review of Administrative Rules and the Committee on Municipalities; and
Whereas, Merrill Stalbaum represented Racine County in the legislature from 1961 to 1973; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature salute the life and public service of Merrill E. Stalbaum; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk provide copies of this joint resolution to Merrill Stalbaum's son, John.
