1999 Assembly Joint Resolution 95
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Representative Francis J. Lallensack.
Whereas, Francis J. Lallensack was born on January 16, 1916, in Manitowoc and died on December 5, 1999, in Manitowoc; and
Whereas, he graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1934; and
Whereas, on October 25, 1941, he married the former Gladys E. Keil; and
Whereas, Mr. Lallensack was a veteran of World War II serving from 1945 to 1946 where he served in Okinawa as an investigator of Japan Prisoner of War Camps; and
Whereas, he joined the Manitowoc Police Department in July 1942 as a patrolman, then detective lieutenant and inspector of police, retiring in December 1972; and
Whereas, Mr. Lallensack was elected to the Wisconsin state assembly in November 1972, and held the office for 4 consecutive terms retiring in 1981; and
Whereas, during his 8 years in the legislature, Mr. Lallensack served as a chairman of the Veterans and Military Affairs Committee and served on the Tourism, Recreation and Economic Development Committee, the Highways Committee and the Natural Resources Committee; and
Whereas, Mr. Lallensack was well-respected by his colleagues; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the legislature of the state of Wisconsin commend Francis J. Lallensack's years of dedicated public service and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Mr. Lallensack's wife, Gladys; to his daughter, Nancy; to his sons, John, Larry and Paul; and to his grandchildren, Thad, Lindsey and Kelsey.
