2001 Senate Resolution 5
ENGROSSED RESOLUTION
Relating to: commemorating on September 1, 2001, the 90th anniversary of Wausau Insurance and the enactment of the nation's first constitutional worker's compensation law.
Whereas, Wausau Insurance issued the first worker's compensation policy under the nation's first constitutional worker's compensation law on September 1, 1911; and
Whereas, that policy remains in effect today with Wausau-Mosinee Papers; and
Whereas, Wausau Insurance pioneered industrial safety programs and was the first casualty insurance carrier to hire an industrial nurse; and
Whereas, Wausau Insurance has been a good corporate citizen by providing financial support and employee volunteers to a wide variety of charitable, educational, and community programs in the state of Wisconsin; and
Whereas, worker's compensation has evolved since 1911 into an efficient, compassionate program that helps injured and ill workers recover and return to work; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, That the members of the Wisconsin senate commemorate on September 1, 2001, the 90th anniversary of Wausau Insurance and the enactment of the nation's first constitutional worker's compensation law; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit copies of this resolution to Wausau Insurance, Wausau-Mosinee Papers, and Wausau Daily Herald.
