ENGROSSED RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life of Pianist John Browning of Sister Bay, Wisconsin.
Whereas, world-known Grammy Award-winning Pianist John Browning died on January 26, 2003, at his home in Sister Bay, Wisconsin, at the age of 69; and
Whereas, his long and fruitful career had deep and frequent ties to the Peninsula Music Festival of Door County, where he performed from 1959 to 2000; and
Whereas, he also served on the board of directors of the Peninsula Music Festival, bringing recognition to the festival and inspiring others to perform in beautiful Door County; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin assembly commend John Browning's great musicianship and his many contributions to the Peninsula Music Festival and Door County, and mourn his passing; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this resolution to Betty Witchey of Santa Rosa, California, to Marian Marcellus of Sister Bay, Wisconsin, and to the Peninsula Music Festival, and ask that it be read at the festival's memorial concert planned for August.
