ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Roman R. Blenski, Sr.
Whereas, Roman R. Blenski was born on January 24, 1917, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and died on August 30, 2002; and
Whereas, he graduated from Bay View High School in 1936; and
Whereas, Mr. Blenski was elected to the Wisconsin assembly in 1944, serving in the 1945 session; and
Whereas, during his tenure in the assembly, Mr. Blenski served on the Committee on Municipalities; and
Whereas, he was subsequently elected to the Wisconsin senate in the 1949 special election and reelected in 1950, serving until 1955; and
Whereas, during his tenure in the senate, Mr. Blenski served on the Education and Public Welfare Committee; and
Whereas, after his tenure in the senate, Mr. Blenski remained active in the political arena, and was a frequent candidate for various public offices; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted public service that Roman R. Blenski, Sr., contributed to this state and his community, express their sorrow at his death, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint resolution to Mr. Blenski's wife, Rita; his sons, Roman, Robert, and Ronald; his daughter, Eleanore E. Shafei; and his brother, Michael Blenski.
