2005 Assembly Joint Resolution 2
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and military service of United States Army Staff Sergeant Charles Anthony Kiser.
Whereas, SSG Kiser was born on October 24, 1966, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Charles and Glenda Kiser, and died on June 24, 2004, near Mosul, Iraq, while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom; and
Whereas, SSG Kiser attended St. Bernadette Elementary School, graduated from McNicholas High School in Cincinnati in 1985, and attended the University of Cincinnati for one year before enlisting in the U.S. Navy, where he served for 7 years on active duty, and then served for 7 years in the Navy reserve at NMCB-25 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, before joining in 2001 the U.S. Army's 330th Military Police Detachment based at the FALE U.S. Army Reserve Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and
Whereas, SSG Kiser moved with his family to Cleveland, Wisconsin, in 1994, was a supervisor at GKN Sinter Metals in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, until being called to active duty in December 2003; and
Whereas, SSG Kiser was well known for his volunteer work with children and was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Sheboygan, a member of the V.F.W. Post 8974 in Cleveland, a member of the Cleveland Athletic Club, a little league coach for his son's Manitowoc County youth sports team, and a member of the Cleveland fish and game club; and
Whereas, SSG Kiser, a proud and honorable sailor and soldier, made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of his country; and
Whereas, SSG Kiser is survived by his wife, Debra, and their two children, Alicia and Mark; and
Whereas, SSG Kiser will always be remembered for his bravery and courage and will never be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature honor United States Army Staff Sergeant Charles Anthony Kiser for his dedication to his country and express their heartfelt sorrow over the loss of his life; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to United States Army Staff Sergeant Charles Anthony Kiser's wife, Debra.
