2005 Senate Joint Resolution 11
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Harold F. Huibregtse.
Whereas, Harold F. Huibregtse was born on August 20, 1907, in the town of Lima, Wisconsin, and died on February 21, 2005, in Sheboygan Falls; and
Whereas, he was a 1923 graduate of Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove; and
Whereas, Mr. Huibregtse married Rosemary DeGroff on April 7, 1937, and she preceded him in death on February 4, 1994; and
Whereas, he married Agnes Walfoort on September 13, 1997, and she preceded him in death on September 15, 2000; and
Whereas, Mr. Huibregtse was first elected to the Wisconsin assembly in 1954, serving in the 1955 and 1957 sessions; and
Whereas, he was subsequently elected to the Wisconsin senate in 1958, serving in the 1959 session; and
Whereas, during his tenure in the legislature, Mr. Huibregtse was a member of the Joint Committee on Finance and the Joint Survey Committee on Retirement Systems; and
Whereas, Mr. Huibregtse was the chairman of the 6th District of the Wisconsin Republican Party in 1963; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted public service that Harold F. Huibregtse contributed to this state and his community, express their sorrow at his death, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Mr. Huibregtse' s daughter, SueAnn Kennedy of Lake Ellen, and son, John A. Huibregtse of Plymouth.
