ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Jerome F. Quinn.
Whereas, Jerome F. Quinn was born on May 23, 1910, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and died on February 29, 2008; and
Whereas, Jerome F. Quinn graduated from Green Bay West High School and attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison; and
Whereas, Jerome F. Quinn married Ellen Hollister on September 24, 1945, and celebrated 57 years of marriage before her death in 2003; and
Whereas, Jerome F. Quinn was owner of a real estate investment business; and
Whereas, Jerome F. Quinn served on the Green Bay city council for 16 years, the Brown county board for six years, and the Green Bay school board for four years; and
Whereas, Jerome F. Quinn was elected to the Wisconsin assembly in 1954, serving in the 1955 to 1973 sessions; and
Whereas, Jerome F. Quinn served under six Wisconsin governors and was chair of the assembly business and manufacturers committee; and
Whereas, during his tenure in the legislature, Mr. Quinn coauthored the highway bonding bill and sponsored bills to create the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, to allow counties to have full-time executives, and to allow cities to create industrial parks; and
Whereas, after leaving the legislature, Jerome F. Quinn was appointed by Governor Tommy Thompson to the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing where he served in the Design Section of the Examining Board of Architects, Professional Engineers, Designers and Land Surveyors; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted public service that Jerome F. Quinn contributed to this state and to his community, express their sorrow at his death, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Mr. Quinn's children, Michael Quinn, Kevin Quinn, and Dr. Teresa Quinn.
