ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and military service of United States Army Sergeant First Class Jesse Bryon Albrecht.
Whereas, Sergeant Albrecht was born September 11, 1975, in River Falls and died May 17, 2007, in the service of his country, in Iskandariya, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near the vehicle in which he was traveling; and,
Whereas, Sergeant Albrecht of Hager City, Wisconsin, a paratrooper in the 725th Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, United States Army, based in Fort Richardson, Alaska, proudly and faithfully served the people of the state of Wisconsin and the United States of America with distinction and honor in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; and,
Whereas, Sergeant Albrecht made the ultimate sacrifice for his country to protect our freedom and way of life while advancing the blessings of liberty and democracy to the Iraqi people; and,
Whereas, Sergeant Albrecht is survived by his wife Crystal Albrecht, daughter Salena Albrecht, mother Denise Albrecht, father William Pollei, and many other friends, family, loved ones, and fellow soldiers; and,
Whereas, Sergeant Albrecht was known as a kind, compassionate man who would go out of his way to help others; and
Whereas, Sergeant Albrecht had a passion for camping, four-wheeling, snowboarding, and salmon fishing in his free time; and,
Whereas, Sergeant Albrecht enlisted in the United State Army in 1993 and underwent his basic training between his junior and senior years of high school, and graduated from Prescott High School in 1994 where he was a member of the wrestling team; and,
Whereas, Sergeant Albrecht will forever look down upon us like the eagles he so deeply admired; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature honor Sergeant First Class Jesse Bryon Albrecht for his dedication and sacrifice to our country, express their heartfelt sorrow over the loss of his life, and extend their condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Sergeant Albrecht's wife Crystal Albrecht, daughter Salena Albrecht, mother Denise Albrecht, and father William Pollei.
