2007 Assembly Joint Resolution 78
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: commending the Aquinas High School's football team and Head Coach Dan Coughlin.
Whereas, the Aquinas High School football team won the Wisconsin Division 5 High School State Championship, defeating Kewaunee High School 27-0 on November 15, 2007, in Madison, Wisconsin; and
Whereas, this win marked the first WIAA state football championship and third state title for the Aquinas High School football team under Head Coach Dan Coughlin; and
Whereas, Coach Coughlin was named the "Coulee Region Coach of the Year" for the third time; and
Whereas, the team finished the season with an impressive record of 12-2; and
Whereas, throughout the season, the Aquinas High School Blugolds thrilled their fans, inspired their student body, and brought pride to the La Crosse community; and
Whereas, the 2007 Aquinas Blugolds will forever be remembered as a team that relied on teamwork, sportsmanship, determination, and courage to achieve a state championship; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature congratulate Head Coach Dan Coughlin and the Aquinas High School football team for their remarkable season and wish them continued success.
