2007 Senate Joint Resolution 62
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and service of United States Army Specialist Eric D. Clark, who lost his life during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Whereas, on May 11, 2006, Specialist Eric D. Clark, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, a member of the U.S. Army 3rd Battalion, 6th Field Artillery Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, died as a result of wounds received during enemy action in Baghdad, Iraq; and
Whereas, Spc. Clark was born July 14, 1983, to parents Joanne (Leipzig) Marfechuk and Kevin Clark. He graduated from Indian Trail Academy in Kenosha, Wisconsin in 2001. While in high school he enlisted in the Army's accelerated program, allowing him to achieve a higher military rank when he began his service career; and
Whereas, Spc. Clark completed basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in May 2003. His first duty station was at Camp Hovey, Korea, with Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery — the "Steel Battalion." In July 2004, Eric transferred to the 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York, and deployed to Iraq in August 2005; and
Whereas, Spc. Clark leaves to cherish his memory, his parents and stepparents, Joanne and Bob Marfechuk and Kevin and Paula Clark, his siblings, Jade, Evan, Meg, and Audra Clark, and Jared and Anna Buckingham; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature of the state of Wisconsin commemorates the remarkable life of Spc. Eric D. Clark, mourns his death, and extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint resolution to his parents and stepparents, Joanne and Bob Marfechuk and Kevin and Paula Clark.
