2011 Assembly Joint Resolution 105
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Darin Arthur Renner.
Whereas, Darin Renner, fiscal analyst with the Legislative Fiscal Bureau, passed away on November 1, 2011, at the age of 40 in Madison, Wisconsin; and
Whereas, Darin Renner was born in Friendship, Wisconsin, on September 22, 1971, to David and Dorothy Renner, spent his formative years in Adams County, and later moved to Green Bay and Madison, but always remained connected to his family and friends in Adams County; and
Whereas, Darin Renner graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1990, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, summa cum laude, in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs in 2000 with a Master of Arts degree; and
Whereas, Darin Renner served as an academic affairs director for the United Council of UW Student Governments, teaching assistant and Speaker of the Assembly at UW-Green Bay, and project assistant at UW-Madison; and
Whereas, Darin Renner was a skilled craftsman who worked in his family's business, Renner Construction, Inc., in Adams County, from 1996 to 1998; and
Whereas, Darin Renner joined the staff of the Legislative Fiscal Bureau on July 24, 2000, and served on the Bureau's General Government and Justice Team where he was assigned the responsibilities of analyzing the programs and budgets of numerous state agencies including the Departments of Administration, Military Affairs, Regulation and Licensing, and Veterans Affairs; and
Whereas, Darin Renner earned the respect of all members and staff of the Wisconsin Legislature, personnel of executive branch agencies, and all associated with state government who came to know him and recognize his work as consistently accurate, thorough, balanced, unbiased, and well written; and
Whereas, Darin Renner provided valuable assistance to the members of the Joint Committee on Finance during the Committee's deliberations on biennial budget bills, budget adjustment bills, and other legislation and matters before the Committee; and
Whereas, Darin Renner and Karin Britta Boeck met in Madison, married at the UW-Madison Memorial Union on September 30, 2007, and became the proud parents of Calvin Otto Boeck Renner on September 11, 2008; and
Whereas, Darin Renner was proud of his family, cherished the time that he spent with them, and was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin; and
Whereas, Darin Renner was an avid reader, a talented woodworker, an accomplished cook and gardener, a competitive athlete and sports enthusiast, and an outdoorsman who shared his many talents with his family and friends; and
Whereas, Darin Renner lived his life to the fullest, developed and maintained numerous friendships, had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, shared his resources and gifts, and conducted his life with the utmost degree of integrity, honesty, fairness, and compassion; and
Whereas, Darin Renner's colleagues at the Legislative Fiscal Bureau, the members and staff of the Wisconsin Legislature, and his many friends want his son Calvin to know what a kind, generous, talented, and respected man his father was, who will be greatly missed, but always remembered; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the
assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin Legislature honor Darin Renner for his service to the people of Wisconsin, express their sorrow over his passing, and extend their condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Darin Renner's wife Karin, son Calvin, father David, sister Debra Rouse, and sister Danna Peterson.
