2011 Assembly Joint Resolution 99
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: honoring Barbara A. Bitters.
Whereas, Barbara A. Bitters is a Champion of Change for her efforts to recruit and retain girls and women in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM); and
Whereas, Barbara A. Bitters is the state leader of the Wisconsin Girls Collaborative Project; and
Whereas, Barbara A. Bitters is the co-leader of the Wisconsin STEM Equity Pipeline Project; and
Whereas, Barbara A. Bitters serves on the executive committee of the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity; and
Whereas, Barbara A. Bitters served in the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as the special advisor on Women's Issues and Vocational Equity; and
Whereas, Barbara A. Bitters was co-director of the National Leadership Development Conference for Vocational Sex Equity Coordinators; and
Whereas, Barbara A. Bitters is a past chair of the Association for Gender Equity Leadership in Education; and
Whereas, Barbara A. Bitters' work has helped support the success of women and other underrepresented groups in STEM Careers; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That in appreciation of Barbara A. Bitters' accomplishments and humanitarian activities, the Wisconsin legislature hereby commends Barbara A. Bitters on her accomplishments and wishes her well in her retirement; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint resolution to Barbara A. Bitters.
