2011 Senate Joint Resolution 17
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of David Kachel.
Whereas, David Kachel was born on October 19, 1927, in Whitewater, Wisconsin, and died on February 3, 2011, at the age of 83; and
Whereas, David Kachel graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1948; and
Whereas, David Kachel was a tremendous, family-oriented businessman involved in family-operated businesses, including Wisconsin Dairy Supply, DLK Enterprises, and Commercial Bank of Whitewater and Janesville, Wisconsin; and
Whereas, David Kachel was dedicated and loyal to the Whitewater community his entire life; and
Whereas, David Kachel used his success in business to give back to his community; and
Whereas, David Kachel served on community and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater boards and commissions during his life; and
Whereas, David Kachel donated funds to help construct many projects in the City of Whitewater and for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater; and
Whereas, David Kachel was influential in the construction and formation of the DLK/Kachel Fieldhouse, the Kachel Family Sports Complex, the Kachel Center in the Young Auditorium, the Kachel Center for Entrepreneurship on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus, and the Whitewater Aquatic Center in the City of Whitewater; and
Whereas, David Kachel and his wife, Lolita, were avid fans and great supporters of University of Wisconsin-Whitewater athletics; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature commend the life and public service of David Kachel, mourn his passing, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to David Kachel's wife, Lolita, and family.
