2013 Assembly Joint Resolution 5
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and public service of Michael Harried.
Whereas, Michael Harried died on November 28, 2012, at the age of 52; and
Whereas, Michael Harried attended McFarland Schools and graduated from McFarland High School and then went on to graduate from the Wisconsin School of Electronics; and
Whereas, Michael Harried served as a senior electronics technician with the State Department of Transportation; and
Whereas, Michael Harried was an avid curler and served on the Board of Directors of the Madison Curling Club, based in McFarland; and
Whereas, Michael Harried was dedicated and loyal to the McFarland community his entire life and was the person others went to when something needed to be done in McFarland; and
Whereas, Michael Harried was known for being a true gentleman in every sense of the word, above reproach, fair, ethical, and unselfish. He respected others—whether he agreed with them or not; and
Whereas, Michael Harried served on the McFarland Village Board and as McFarland Village President where he epitomized the qualities we would like to see in elected officials whether on the local, state, or national level; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of
the Wisconsin legislature commend the life and public service of Michael Harried, mourn his passing, and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Michael Harried's parents, Loraine and Hjalmer "Jim" Harried of McFarland, and the Village of McFarland, Wisconsin.
