2013 Assembly Joint Resolution 99
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: the life and community service of Joyce A. Bytof of Appleton, Wisconsin.
Whereas, Joyce Bytof came to the Fox Valley in the late 1950s and became an invaluable leader in the community; and
  Whereas, Joyce worked for the Times Mirror in 1953, now the Los Angeles Times, where she worked in advertising, and she received her real estate license in 1964, and then attained the Council of Real Estate Brokerage designation; and
  Whereas, in 1975 Joyce joined Bytof Realtors, Inc., in Appleton, and in 1988 she became president and chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group, Inc., the company founded by her husband, Otto, which now employs more than 500 realtors across northeastern Wisconsin; and
  Whereas, Joyce served as the president of the Northeast Wisconsin Realtors Association in 1985–86, was appointed to the Wisconsin Realtors Association Board of Directors in 1983, serving as president from 1995–97, and was named to the National Realtors Association Board of Directors in 2003; and
  Whereas, Joyce received many honors for her outstanding contributions to the real estate industry, including the 1985 Wisconsin Realtor of the Year Award, the 1990 Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce Athena Business Woman of the Year Award, the 1997 Small Business Person of the Year Award, and the 2001 Volunteer Business of the Year Award; and
  Whereas, Joyce lead multiple committees and community projects in the Fox Valley Area, including, but not limited to, her company's nonprofit organization, TREG Foundation, Inc.; the YMCA of the Fox Cities Corporate Board; the United Way Board; the Community Foundation Board; the Goodwill Board; the Chamber of Commerce Board; the Big Brothers-Big Sisters Board; and Habitat for Humanity; and in 1993 she was elected the first woman chair of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce; and
  Whereas, Joyce was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and served on the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of the Fox River Area, the President's Council of Junior Achievement, the Senior Advisory Board, the Make-A-Wish Board, and the Children's Hospital Board; and
  Whereas, Joyce served as a member of the University of Wisconsin Curriculum Council and president of the University of Wisconsin Foundation; and
  Whereas, Joyce was a tireless worker and an inspiration to the entire Fox Cities community and the state of Wisconsin for more than 50 years; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin legislature honor the exemplary life of Joyce A. Bytof for her outstanding service to our state and her many successes in business and in the community; and, be it further
Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit a copy of this joint resolution to the husband and family of Joyce A. Bytof.
