2015 Senate Joint Resolution 35
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: proclaiming May 2015 as Motorcycle Awareness Month.
Whereas, more than 8,000,000 motorcycles are registered in the United States, of which nearly 300,000 are registered in Wisconsin, alone; and
Whereas, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has declared May "Motorcycle Awareness Month" and it is the desire of the Wisconsin legislature to join the NHTSA in raising awareness of the expected increase of motorcyclists on Wisconsin's roadways beginning in the month of May; and
Whereas, thousands of Wisconsin residents and visitors enjoy motorcycling as an amazing manner to experience the beauty of our great state and minimize their environmental footprint; and
Whereas, the Wisconsin legislature finds a compelling public interest in encouraging motorists in Wisconsin to be vigilant for the presence of motorcycles on roadways, so as to create a safe and pleasurable experience for all motorists; and
Whereas, throughout Wisconsin, motorcyclists have been at the forefront of efforts to promote the wise and sensible use of this most enjoyable mode of travel, making contributions both civically and socially to create the highest standards of highway safety; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature hereby proclaims May 2015 as Motorcycle Awareness Month.
