2017 Assembly Joint Resolution 79
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: supporting the induction of Jerry Kramer into the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2018.
Whereas, Gerald (Jerry) Louis Kramer was born January 23, 1936, in Jordan, Montana; and
Whereas, Jerry Kramer was the 39th player selected in the 1958 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers; and
Whereas, Jerry Kramer played in every single game of his rookie season in 1958. Jerry Kramer played right guard for the Green Bay Packers while winning five NFL titles and the first two Super Bowls; and
Whereas, Jerry Kramer also served as placekicker for the team in the 1962, the 1963, and part of the 1968 seasons. As a kicker, he made 29 field goals and 90 extra points, for a total of 177 Green Bay points; and
Whereas, Jerry Kramer is the only member of the NFL's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team to not be included in the Pro Football Hall of Fame; and
Whereas, in recognition and celebration of Jerry Kramer being named as a senior committee finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin Legislature stand in full support of Jerry Kramer being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2018 and implore the voting committee to right the wrong of his absence. Jerry Kramer was an exceptional football player and is a deserving human being. The members of the Wisconsin Legislature congratulate Jerry Kramer on becoming a senior committee finalist and wish him good luck.
