ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: declaring May 5 as National Skilled Trades Day in Wisconsin.
Whereas, apprentices are paid from day one both on the job and to attend school; and
Whereas, completing an apprenticeship program gets people into an in-demand industry with long-range career opportunities; and
Whereas, apprentices graduate with little or no student loan debt; and
Whereas, apprenticeship provides a sense of accomplishment in work; and
Whereas, apprentice graduate placement rate in a well-paying career is near 100 percent; and
Whereas, according to the Wisconsin Technical College System, the annual median salary for all graduated construction apprentices is $87,000; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the
assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin Legislature declares May 5 as National Skilled Trades Day in Wisconsin.
